As a thriving business dedicated to delivering exceptional pet sitting services, Premium Pet Sitters, LLC is actively seeking qualified and professional independent contractors to collaborate with our company. We take pride in providing high-quality care to our valued clientele, and we are eager to expand our team with individuals who share our commitment to excellence.

To ensure efficient operations and personalized service, we exclusively work with pet sitters residing within our designated service area (this will grow as the company grows, so please make sure to check back if you are not located in our current designated service area), have been certified through National Association of Pet Sitters (or education in animal care, example: vet tech) and can provide 3 pet sitting or animal care references (or pet care equivalent).

​Types of Pet Sitters:

​

1. DAILY/Vacation Sitters: These sitters offer services at the client's home, with each visit lasting between 1-4 hours. Depending on the client's needs, there can be 1 to 3 visits per day, spanning from 1 day to 3 weeks or more. Daily sitters must be available for three specific time frames: morning visits (usually between 6 am and 10 am), mid-day visits (usually between 11 am and 3 pm), and evening visits (usually between 3 pm and 10 pm). It is important to note that availability is required for all three time frames, and this does not imply weekend-only work. You may need to pet sit for an entire week, potentially making 2-3 visits per day for a single client during their absence. We do not share jobs.

2. Drop In Visits: Drop In visits can last 30-60 minutes. Depending on the client's needs, there can be 1-3 visits per day, spanning from 1 day to 3 weeks or more. The sitter must be available for three specific time frames: morning visits (usually between 6 am and 10 am), mid-day visits (usually between 11 am and 3 pm), and evening visits (usually between 3 pm and 10 pm). It is important to note that availability is required for all three time frames, and this does not imply weekend-only work. You may need to do drop ins for an entire week, potentially making 2-3 visits per day for a single client during their absence. We do not share jobs. 

3. MID-DAY Sitters: These sitters must be available Monday through Sunday, primarily between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm. Mid-day visits are often combined with either daily visits or overnight service.

4. OVERNIGHT Sitters: Overnight sitters stay and sleep at the client's home for a duration of 10-12 hours, from evening to morning. It is important for overnight sitters to have their own place of residence, as this is considered supplemental income. Depending on the length of the client's reservation, you may stay at one client's home for a single night up to 10+ consecutive nights. It is possible to work a regular 9-5 job and still be an overnight sitter.

Independent Contractor (IC) Requirements:

To work as an independent contractor with PPS, the following requirements must be met:

​

1. Reside in our service areas, providing service within a 5-10 mile radius from your home.

2. Availability for assignments as per each client's instructions. Visit time frames are based on the number and type of pets.

3. Availability for all major holidays and minimal personal travel.

4. Preferred volunteer and/or experience in pet care through local vet clinics, animal shelters, groomers, pet stores, etc.

5. Certified through National Association of Pet Sitters or similar education (ex. vet tech)

6. Legal age to sign contracts, preferably 25 years or older.

7. Detail-oriented, organized, with strong time-management skills, and the ability to follow specific instructions.

8. Experience in administering injections for cats and dogs, as well as oral medication, is preferred.

9. Ability to pass a background check and provide excellent references.

10. Ability to be bonded and insured for pet sitting.

11. Commitment to contracting with PPS and its clients.

12. Possession of a reliable car, a cell phone (preferably a smartphone), access to the internet, and the ability to check email daily.

13. All services are contracted and commission-based. Steady income cannot be guaranteed, as this is considered supplemental income only.

14. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

15. Mature, responsible, self-motivated, and professional adult.

16. Ability to think quickly and apply common sense in problem-solving situations.

17. Strong sales skills and a positive attitude.

18. Outgoing personality with a genuine love for animals, especially cats and dogs AND customer service skills.

19. Capable of walking two large, energetic dogs (weighing 50 lbs or more) simultaneously.

20. Non-smoker (preferred) who maintains a neat, tidy, and respectful approach to clients' homes.

21. Preferred Pet CPR and First Aid certification through the American Red Cross.

Premium Pet Sitters are paid per visit and each visit has its own pay amount.

Pay can range from $12.00-$24/hour
